Our mission is to build a sisterhood of empowered and inspiring women who ruck together for community, strength, and resilience.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a vibrant and diverse community of individuals who come together through the sport of rucking, regardless of their fitness level or background. We envision a group that supports and uplifts one another, celebrates achievements, and learns from failures.
We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels valued and encouraged to pursue their individual goals. Our ultimate goal is to build a lasting legacy of strong and empowered women who inspire others to join us on this journey.
Our Values
-
Mother Ruckers is a place where you can connect with others who share your interests and passions, and where you can build lasting friendships. We believe that a strong community is essential to building resilience, and we're dedicated to fostering that sense of community among our members.
-
We believe that rucking and physical activity should be accessible to everyone. We aim to provide opportunities for people to improve their physical and mental health through rucking, a low-cost and effective form of exercise.
-
We believe in pushing ourselves to be our best, both physically and mentally. We encourage our members to set and achieve goals, and we provide opportunities for them to challenge themselves through training sessions, rucking events, and intellectual pursuits.
-
We value respect for ourselves, others, and the environment. We believe in treating others the way we want to be treated and taking care of the places where we ruck. We prioritize creating a safe and welcoming environment where all members feel valued and heard.
Meet Our Founder
I never considered myself an athlete. I played some individual and team sports when I was younger but was never super competitive and lacked any real endurance or strength. That began to change more than a year ago when I stumbled upon rucking - the simple act of walking with a weighted backpack.
I started small - loading up one of my kid’s old school backpacks with some books to keep my boyfriend company while he trained on our local sledding hill. There was something about the rhythm of walking with a pack on my back while being outside that was meditative and calming. And the physical benefits were undeniable as I started to look and feel stronger.
Over time, I started adding more weight and going for longer walks. Before I knew it, I was hooked. I read books and listened to podcasts about rucking and joined online communities to connect with other ruckers. We shared tips on gear, training, nutrition, and mindset — and we cheered each other on as we tackled new challenges.
Many of the ruckers I met online were part of local rucking groups so I tried to find one to join in my area. I quickly learned most were too far away and dominated by men. As a woman, I often felt like I didn't quite fit in.
In my professional life, I support wellness-focused companies and entrepreneurs to build communities in support of their brands through my consulting group, Conscious Brand Lab. I have seen firsthand how powerful a healthy lifestyle community can be as an antidote to modern-day stressors, loneliness, and pervasive lifestyle-related diseases.
So when I participated in a recent 17-mile ruck march in support of veterans’ suicide awareness it didn’t surprise me how happy and connected I felt in the company of hundreds of like-minded ruckers.
Around mile 11, as my feet started to ache while my heart remained so full, I decided to start Mother Ruckers. I wanted to create a space where women could come together and support each other in their rucking journeys and beyond.
So if you're looking for a new challenge, a fun way to meet new people or spend quality time with the ones you already love, or just a new way to stay active, come join us.
We organize group rucks, events, and social get-togethers, and offer a supportive community of like-minded women. We believe that rucking isn't just a fitness activity - it's a way of life. And we're here to help you make it a part of yours.
Whether you're a seasoned rucker or hiker, or just starting out, we welcome you with open arms. I can’t wait to ruck with you!
