Welcome to Mother Ruckers. We are the first rucking group for women* in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower women through the sport of rucking while building a community that is inclusive, supportive, and accessible to all. We strive to create an environment that fosters personal growth, mental and physical resilience, and a sense of belonging.
What Is Rucking?
Rucking is simply a low-impact way to exercise that involves walking or hiking with a backpack that is loaded with weight. While it has long been a common practice in the military as a way to train soldiers to carry heavy loads over long distances, it’s gaining popularity amongst civilians as an ideal way to simultaneously build strength and endurance.
Why Should I Ruck?
Rucking is a great way to spend time outdoors and is one of the few activities that allow you to effectively work out while being social with others. Weight is the great equalizer - people of many different fitness levels can ruck together!
In addition to the numerous physical benefits, spending time in nature and connecting with yourself and others makes rucking the perfect antidote to modern-day stressors.
